Newsletters May 2009 Dear KADV Friends and Ministry Partners, It’s such a blessing to work in partnership with God. Of all the people I’ve worked for, and worked with, I have to say He is my favorite boss! He is always unselfish about sharing the joys and blessings with us that belong to Him. How many employers have ever come to you and said “Guess what compliment one of our customers gave us? And it’s because of YOUR hard work! Thank you for making this company better!” I’m going to go out on a limb and say, not many of you have heard that from an employer. Yet, we get to hear every day how the lives of people are being blessed because of KADV. Because we are primarily a broadcast station, most of us think about KADV as an FM station in our community. But through the miracle of technology, and God’s blessings in helping us find faith partners, KADV’s outreach goes past the Central Valley, beyond the mountains and the oceans, to encircle the earth. A few days ago, we got a call from a listener in coastal West Africa. He listens via the World Wide Web and our web page, www.kadv.org. He called to tell us how blessed he is by hearing hymns and Christian music that are familiar to him. He said he has a number of friends who listen, but they are not able to call us and thank us for our music. To each of you who helps with the support of KADV-FM, his thank-you message is for you! Without your dedication and support, our listeners near-by, as well as our world-wide friends, would be deprived of a blessing. One of the ways KADV’s music format blesses is in the lives of the artists you hear on KADV. Many of the songs you hear are from artists who aren’t big names in Christian Entertainment. They don’t have big recording contracts with major labels. Their ministry springs from their hearts, and somehow their CD’s find their way to us. For some of them, KADV is the only radio outlet for their music anywhere in the country. One of the new artists you are hearing on KADV is a young lady with an incredible story. Young Leilani Clark. Her CD “Never Say Goodbye” began as a family project with her father and younger brother. During the making of the CD, her father suddenly and unexpectedly passed away, with just 8 of the 12 songs completed. Through God’s strength, and help from family and friends, Leilani completed the CD and released it in 2007. On Leilani’s song, “Keeper of My Heart,” you can hear her father Dan doing backing vocals. This is one of the last special memories his family has of their loving husband and father. I’m always amazed at how God gives such rich talents to His children. And when we use the gifts and talents He has blesses us with, we are blessed again through the act of sharing. I sent an email to Leilani, thanking her for sharing her rich talent with KADV, and for being a blessing. Leilani’s mother, Victoria, replied. “Your message came at a perfect time (but then again, God’s timing is ALWAYS perfect!!!) when I was beginning to think the Lord has dried up our opportunities to minister to other people through Lani’s Never Say Goodbye CD…and then came you! Isn’t God simply AMAZING????” Amen Victoria. God uses all of us in so many ways. He blessed Leilani with an amazing voice in such a young girl. Blessed her heart with the desire to share God’s goodness through her talent. Blessed someone, somehow to share her music with KADV. And is blessing each day through each of you who are our Ministry Partners. Without your dedication, sacrifice and generosity, there is no KADV! I was reminded recently, how God can use such small things to bring a blessing. I was speaking with a financial planner about the tough economic times we face. He mentioned that I probably have more expendable income than I realized…enough to pay for the things I was stressing about. He commented that while most people complain about how tight their resources are, they will routinely stop to pick up a Latte or other favorite beverage on the way to work. Counting an average of $2.50 per cup, just one per day for 5 days means I’m spending $52.50 per month! That’s $650.00 per year for that hot or iced beverage. Wow, I had NO idea! A KADV Day-Sponsorship is just $23.00 per month! So I can be a Day-Sponsor for just pocket change. And if just 200 people shared their Latte` money with KADV, that would be $130,000.00 per year! What an incredible bargain! It costs less to pay for a day of broadcasting than it does for a Latte`! Do you have some pocket change to share with KADV? As we enter the summer months we come to a time of the year when our ministry partners giving slows. We find ourselves in great need every summer but particularly this summer and we would like to ask you for your help in our mission to help others meet Christ and to help families succeed. God blessed all of so that you were able to help us during our great time of need earlier this spring, we would like to ask you to consider your giving during this summer and remember KADV so that we can continue to be here on your radio dial 90.5 FM. Please also remember us in your prayers it helps and encourages us knowing you are praying to keep KADV on the air this summer, so that we can send God’s message into our community and as we learned from our brother in West Africa KADV message is now being heard around the world. Thank you for partnering with us. KADV 90.5 FM
